About us
Tuva Tøv is a small felting company based in the small town Stadsbygd in Trøndelag, Norway.

Felting is an ancient craft - older than spinning or weaving. With soapy water and repeated agitation, the wool fibers slide across each other until they are tangled.

You can use felt in various ways. It is run-proof because the fibres have no particular direction. You will also discover that felted wool is water repellent, durable, very warm and non-flammable.

In times past, they used felt to make tents, carpets, clothes and other necessities.

The Vikings often used coats of felted wool instead of coats of mail, because it gave them better protection against spears and swords.

Tuva Tøv primarily uses Norwegian wool. We develop solid and functional products in exciting colors and modern design. All products can be hand-washed, spin-dried and stretched in shape, and they can be straightened out with a rolling pin.

We also make some products in wool from Faeroe Island-sheep. This wool is very warm and soft. The Coast Collection contains slippers, seating pads and insoles, in natural colours. .

Tuva Tøv has a shop in with our factory in Stadsbygd. There we also have the art gallery Galleri Balkan, where you can watch and buy paintings from local artists. .

Tuva Tøvs products can be bought at Husfliden in most major norwegian cities.
